In the name of God, Amen:  I Peter PARKER of the county and State aforesaid being of sound mind and disposing memory to make this, an no other, my last will and testament in manner and form as follows.

Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my children, James and Civility and to the children of my daughter Amanda BALLANCE, viz, Isaac BALLANCE, Charlie BALLANCE, Levin BALLANCE, Vernon BALLANCE and Utility BALLANCE all my chattel property to be equally divided between them, that is to say, one share to James one share to Civility, and one share to the children of Amanda BALLANCE above named.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 29 day of November--1869.

Currituck County - In the Probate Court Dec'r 29th 1869

A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Peter PARKER, deceased, is exhibited before me the undersigned Judge of Probate for said County by James PARKER, and the due execution thereof by the said Peter PARKER by the oath and examination of H.E. BAXTER and of V.L. PITTS subscribing witnesses thereto who being duly sworn doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith each for himself that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of Peter PARKER that the said Peter PARKER in the presence of these deponents subscribed his name at the end of Said paper writing which is now shown as aforesaid, and which bears date on the 29th day of November 1869, and the deponents further saith that the said Peter PARKER the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid, declare the said paper writing so subscribed by him and exhibited, to be his last will and testament, and these deponents did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of said will as attesting witnesses thereto, and at the request and in the presence of the said testator - and these deponents further saith that at the said time when the testator subscribed his name to the said last will as aforesaid, and at the time of the deponents subscribing their names as attesting witnesses thereto as aforesaid, the said Peter PARKER was of Sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will and was of sound not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of these deponents, and further more these deponents saith not.
