Jan. 17, 1715 - Feb. 17, 1715

In the Name of God Amen the Sevententh Day of Janry in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifteen.  I Samuel PAINE Late of North Carolina being Sick and weak in body butt of perfect mind & Memory and Knowing that all men must Dye doe make and ordaine this my Last will and Testament in manner and form following: fist [sic] I Give and recommend my Soule into the hands of almighty God hoping at the Generall Resurrection to Recive the Same againe and my Body to its mother Earth to be Decently buried at the Discretion of my Extr hereafter Named.

Imps I Give to my Loveing frind John McKENNY Twenty Two Barrels of Pitch now Lying in the house of Capt John HAUSTEAD in Nansemond.

It I Give to my Loveing frind John McKENY Twenty two barrels of pitch Lying and to be Delivered at the north west Landing.

Item I Give to John McKENNY Son of John McKENNY One young horse wch I bought of Wm? RUSSELL being of a Gray Couler the last Pitch to be Delivered by the tenth Day of October next as above.

It I Give to Rachell Daughter of John McKENNY one Large Pewter Bason to be Delivered by my Exer to North Carrolina.

It I Give to James and John CAROON Six hundred and fourty acres of Land Lying in Bay? County in North Carrolina to be Equally Divided to him and the heirs of there Bodys for Ever.

It I Give to George CAROON Six hundred & fourty acres of Land to him and the heirs of his body for Ever Lying by Indian Creek Island.

Item I Give to George CAROON all ye remainder part of My Estate moveable & Immoveable both Reale and personal to him & the heirs of his body for Ever & I doe by these presents Constitute and appoint James & John CAROON my Executors to Execute this my Last will & Testament in North Carrolina & my frind Jno McKENNY Exer in virginia Ratifieing and Confirming this to be my Last will & Testament and Noe other In wittness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale the Day & year first above written.
