In the name of God amen. I Fredick OWENS of the county of Currituck and state of North Carolina being in sound mind and memory blessed be God but weake in boddy health and calling to mind the certainty of death so make and publish this to be my last will and testament as following.

First of all I commit my soal to God who give it and my body to the dirt from which it caim.

Item  I give my wife Polly OWENS one bay mare.  I lend to my wife one negro woman named Ferbee during her life of widowhood and at her death or marage to be sold by my executor and the money to be equally divided between six of my children that is to John, Sovility, Hezekiah, Nancy, Benjamin, and Fredick.  I leave one Negro woman Debroah and child to be sold by my executor at a credit of six months with all the rest of my personal estate in doors and out to be sold at the same credit as above mentioned and the money to be divided between my wife Polly OWENS, John OWENS, Sovility MERCER, Hezekiah OWENS, Nancy OWENS, Benjamin OWENS, and Fredick OWENS.

I leave Anna FORBES and her two sons Nathan and William ETHERIDGE one eight parts of all the money that shall arise from the sales of this my last will and testament except that should come from the sale of Negro Ferbee if any.

I leave all my land in Tyrrell County to be sold by my executor at a credit of six months and wish it to be sold in four tracts by press? Swamp to be one tract, the Ppoperwill place to be one tract, Ceatin place to be a tract and Butler? tract separate to make in all four separate tracts and money to go as above mentioned that is to say to my wife Polly OWENS, John OWENS, Sovility, Hezekiah, Nancy, Benjamin, and Fredick and Anna FORBES and her proportional parts with the rest mentioned to be equally divided between her and her two sons Nathan and William ETHERIDGE.

I leave to my son Washington OWENS two hundred and fifty dollars which he has received as his part of said estate and I hold his rights for the same that to be his part of said estate in total and I appoint my worthy friend James OWENS executor to this my last will and testament in witnesses I here write set my hand and affix my seal.
