Nathan O'Neal

Currituck Co. Will Book 3, pp. 119-121

In the name of God Amen. I Nathan O NEAL of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows. That is to say.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Son Edward O NEAL the land and plantation whereon I now live with all the improvements thereon except the wind mill to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Son Michael O NEAL and Edward O NEAL and William GRIGGS my windmill with all her materials as she now is to them and their heirs forever.

Item. I lend unto my beloved Wife July O NEAL the use of all the remainder of my estate in doors and out after paying my just debts and at her death or marriage to be equally divided between her and her three Daughters viz. Dorcas and Betsey and Patsey O NEAL to them and their heirs forever.

Item. I give to my Son Edward O NEAL all my swamp land lying back of Richard ALINs to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give to my Son Michael O NEAL and Edward O NEAL and Edency GRIGGS and Dorcas ONEAL and Betsey ONEAL and Patsey ONEAL all my land on the Bank and on Poine Island and my privilege in the Swamp from the Will of Thomas TAYLOR to them and their heirs forever. And lastly I do nominate and appoint my trusty friend Samuel SALYEAR JUNR. My whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2 day of October 1821.
