In the name of God Amen, the eighteenth day of November the year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred and eighty nine, I John MIDYETT of Chicknicomack Banks in the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be giving unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that give it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a christain like and decent manner at the disrection of my exectors nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again at the resurrection by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath please God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Item: I give to my Son John MIDYETT the north end of my land for fifty acres more or less, my house and plantation I leave to my Wife Christain MIDYETT during her widerhood.

I give to my Son Robert MIDYETT the south end of my land for fifty acres more or less.

I give to my Wife Christain MIDYETT one feather bead and furniture, one mare.

I give to my Daughter Mary MIDYETT one feather bead and furniture.

I give to my Daughter Sary MIDYETT one feather bead and furniture, one horse

I give to my Daughter Rosamon MIDYETT one feather bead.

I give to my Daughter Mary MIDYETT one cow and calf.

I give to my Son Robert MIDYETT one cow and calf.

I leave boat to my Son Robert MIDYETT and my Wife Christain MIDYETT in during her widowhood the rest of the moveables to my Wife Christain during her life then to be divided.

Likewise constitute and ordain my Wife Christain MIDYETT and Robert MIDYETT my Son, sole executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies requests and executors by me in any ways before this time named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above writen.
