The Last will and Testament of Thomas McHORNEY  dec'd was Exhibited in open Court at May Term 1832 & proven by the oath of H. BALL a witness thereto & ordered Recorded.

In the name of God amen. I Thomas McHORNEY of the County of Currituck in the State of North Carolina being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of human Life and that it is appointed for man to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz.

Impremise I give and bequeath to my Son Jasper MACKHORNEY what he has already received and no more to him & his heirs.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Betsey MACKHORNEY one desk one feather bed and furnature one cow and calf to her & her heirs.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Julian IVES what she has already rec’d. and no more to her and her heirs.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Peggy JONES what she has already rec’d. and no more to her and her heirs.

Item. All the remainder of my Estate within doors & without I lend to my beloved wife Bridget MACKHORNEY during her single life and then to be divided between my two daughters Carey MACKHORNEY and Bridget MACKHORNEY and if my wife Bridget MACKHORNEY seas fit to marrie at her marriage the property I lent to my Wife Bridget to be divided in three Equal parts one part to my wife one part to my Daughter Carey MACKHORNEY and the other part to my Daughter Bridget MACKHORNEY and their heirs.

Lastly my will and desire is that my true and trusty friend Encoh BALL is hereby appointed constituted & ordained whole & sole executor to this my last will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal this 28th day of November 1827.
