May the 29th 1796

In the name of God Amen, I James McCLAIN, being sick in body but of sound mind and memory, Thank God for it and calling to mind the shortness of life and certainty of death do constitute this to be my Last Will and Testament T. E.

I give my body to the earth and my soul to God who first give it and all my worldly goods I dispose of the following manner.

Item My will and desire is such that all my worldly goods shall be sold at publick vandue and that all costs and charges shall be paid for my trouble in sickness and funeral solemnities and then for all my debts to be paid so far as my property will pay----

This is my Last Will and Testament and I disannul disallow and revoke all others and confirming this to be my Last Will and Testament in witness to the same I have hereunto set may hand and seal the day and date above written.
