In the name of God, Amen. I Simon MATTHIAS citizen of Currituck County and State of North Carolina, do make and ordain this instrument of writing to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth Viz.

I lend my Daughter Abi DOXEY one negro girl by the name of Love, during her natural life, and after her death I give and said negro Love to be equally divided amongst all my Daughter Abi children. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Abi DOXEY one red and white cow and her yearling, also one yew and lamb, one hand mill and chest that she now has.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Frankey MATTHIAS one bed and furniture and one negro girl by the name of Amey, and also one linen wheel, to her and her heirs forever.

Item. I lend to my beloved Wife Elizabeth MATTHIAS all the remainder of my property real, personal and chattle, after paying my just debts, during her widowhood.

Item. I lend to my Daughter Frankey MATTHIAS after the death of her Mother, during the time she should live a single life the use of a part of my plantation as followeth viz. beginning a ditch near the gate, then runing down the ditch to the leading ditch, then along that to the first small ditch that runs through the deading field to the plumb nurcery, then by the yard to a little ditch back of the yeopon patch, then along that ditch to the ditch in the branch, then to the first station, and a privilege fire wood and rail timber, and part of the yeopon and privilege of the houses.

Item. I give all my lands and plantation after the death of my Wife Elizabeth MATTHIAS to my Son William MATTHIAS to him and his heirs forever.

Item. After the death of my Wife Elizabeth MATTHIAS, I give to my Son William MATTHIAS one hand mill, one gun, and one large looking glass, and bed and furniture.

Item. I give to my Daughter Abi DOXEY one bed and furniture, to her and her heirs.

Item. I give to my Daughter Franky MATTHIAS one bed and furniture.

Item. I give to my Son William MATTHIAS two negro girls one by the name of Vine, and one by the name of Jiminie and also one negro man Call, and negro woman Nanne, to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Franky MATTHIAS three negroes Mary, Hannah and Sier to her and her heirs forever and also one horse creature if any alive at the death of her Mother.

I give and bequeath to my Son William and Daughter Frankey all my hogs, sheep and cattle after the death of their Mother, to be equally divided amongst them, I also give my Son William MATTHIAS one horse cart and harness.

My will and desire is that all the remainder of my property that I have not given away be equally divided between my Daughter Abi DOXEY and Son William MATTHIAS and Franky MATTHIAS.  I also nominate, constitute and appoint my Wife Elizabeth MATTHIAS and Son William MATTHIAS my lawful executors to this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.
