In the name of God Amen, I Chloe MATHIAS of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being sick and weak but of sound mind and memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament Viz:

I give and bequeath unto my Son John MATHIAS a certain piece or parcel of land beginning at the main road, running down a ditch southwardly to the canal, it being the westwardly part of the plantation together with all the buildings except a small house on the southard of the land near the woods to him and heirs forever.

I give and bequeath unto my Son Hillary MATHIAS a piece of land commencing at Johns line and down the ditch to the canal thence down the canal to the main road and along the main road to the cross roads opposite MACKIEs store house, thence along the road to the first station, also I give him the small house on Johns part situated near the woods to him and heirs forever provided that the said John and Hillary MATHIAS do educate and raise my Son William MATHIAS clear of charges.

I give and bequeath unto my Son Simon MATHIAS a small piece of woodland lying over the canal and binding on the canal to him and his heirs forever.
