The last will and Testament of Johnson MARCHANT dec’d. was exhibited in open court at February Term 1846 and the execution of the same proved by the oath of H.M. SHAW one of the subscribing witnesses thereto in due form ordered recorded.

   I Johnson MARCHANT of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being of sound disposing mind and memory do on this the 21st day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty four make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following.

   I give and bequeath to my wife and child the whole of my estate both real and personal in such manner as the law would dispose of it were I to die intestate.

   I nominate and appoint Gideon C. MARCHANT Executor to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above written.
