In the name of God amen I Mary JONES of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina being of a sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God for the same, do this Seventh day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Three doth make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say

   First I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth MOSELY the sum of Forty dollars to her and her heirs forever with her consent I wish her to lay the said money out in the following manner to get her Daughter Mary C. MOSELY one bible and one burrow

   Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Caroline LAND my side board and my looking glass unto her and her heirs forever also I lend the use of negro girl Susan during her life and after her death if she should leave any children I leave the said girl and her increase to be equally divided between them, to them and their heirs forever In case my Daughter should die leaving no child I give the said girl Susan and her increase unto my Sun Kader T. MARCHANT unto him and his heirs forever.

   Item I give and bequeath unto my Sun William MARCHANT one of my mehogna tables the first choice and my field bedsted bed and furniture that stands up stairs one white county pin with netting fringe one paper trunk the plated candle sticks to him and his heirs forever

  I leave the following property of Five Hundred dollars one negro girl Meriah to be paid by my Executor into the hands of my Brother, Hollo WILLIAMS and also Six silver table spoons and one mehogna stand to be held as the other legacy and the money to be put out on interest at his discretion and any expence the girl should be at to be paid out of the above money and for the said Hollowell WILLIAMS to keep it in his possession until my Son Joseph J. JONES arrives to the age of Twenty One years, then I give it to him and his heirs forever but if my Sun Joseph J. JONES should die before he arrive to the age of Twenty One years old, then I give it to be equally divided between my Four children to them and their heirs forever.

After all my just debts is paid I give and bequeath unto my Son Kader T. MARCHANT all the residue of my estate unto him and his heirs forever.

   And I hereby make and ordain my Son Kader T. MARCHANT Executor of this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said Mary JONES have to this my Last Will and Testament

Set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

Signed, Sealed, Published & Declared By the said Mary JONES the testator as her Last Will and Testament in the presence of us Who were present at the time of Signing and sealing thereof
     Hollo. WILLIAMS, Mary C. FEREBEE jurat, Elizabeth B. JONES jurat

Above Will was proved by the oath of Mary C. FEREBEE and Elizabeth B. JONES in open Court and the Executor therein named qualified in form of law.

Recorded and examined this 19th day of January A.D. 1824
