Joseph Jones, Sr.
Sept. 11, 1798 - Feb. 5, 1799
Currituck Co. Will Book 2, p. 137

In the name of God Amen, I Joseph JONES SEN., being in the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being in a low state of helth but of a sound mind and disposing memory Thanks be to Almighty God for it, and by this do publish pronounce and declare that this is and shall be my Last Will and Testament in writing----

Item I give and bequece unto my beloved Wife Catron JONES all my land to have and to hold during her widdow hood then to be eaquelly divided between my two Daughters Elizabeth and Patsey JONES to them and their heirs of their bodies for ever.

Item I give and bequeeve also unto my beloved Wife Catron JONES one mare and one horse colt and forty dollars that I sold the young horse for and likewise all her of BARROTs estate that was coming to me when I married her.

Item I give and bequeve unto Randolph JONES one cow for the use of my child Patsy JONES or as long as he keeps the child or the cow lives then who ever keeps my child is to take the cow for the use of my child, still and all the increas of the said cow is to go with my child for her use.

Item I give unto my Wife Catron JONES three beds and two bedsteads, two blankets, and one rug during her widdow hood then to be eaquelly divided between my two Daughters Elizabeth and Patsey JONES.

Also to my Wife three cows during her widdow hood also two winsor chairs to my Wife, all the rest of my estate eaquelly to be divided between my two Daughters Patsey and Elizabeth JONES.

I likewise make constitute and order my Wife Catron JONES executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I doe hereby disannul all and every other will that shall or may arise by me Joseph JONES, do order this to be my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of September 1798 signed sealed and delivered in the presents of us
