May 4, 1772 - June 24, 1774
Currituck Co. Will Book 1, pp. 84-85

In the Name of God Amen,
I Frances JONES of North Carolina in Currituck being in sick weak low condition but of perfect sound mind and memory Thanks be to God for the same but calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for all people once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz.

Imprimise: I desire my body to be buried in a christain manner and as touching such worldly estate it hath pleased God to endue me with I give and dispose as follows.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son Caleb MORSE my negroe wentch Juda and all my silver money that I have by me at my death and one pine chest and his chocist my stears in my stock and two young heifers, the said things and negroes I give to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah JONES my box iron and half of my wareing clothes to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann COX my warming pan and one large pewter dish and the other half of my wareing cloaths to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my three childrenn now living---- namely Caleb MORSE, Sarah JONES, and Ann COX all my hoggs and meat and corne to be equeally divided between them to them and their heir forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah JONES and Archiball MORSE the third part of all my estate that I have not already given to be equeally divided between them, and if my Daughter Sarah JONES dies without heir of her body her part I give to Archaball MORSE to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann COX and my Son John's childrenn, the other two parts of whole estate that I have not given that is one half of the said two parts to my Daughter Ann COX to her and her heirs forever and the other part to be equeally divided between my said Son John's childrenn now living, Malachi Ruben and Caleb and Liddea Ann and Salley MORSE to them and their heirs forever.

Altho, I have disposd of all my liveing yet I desire that my Grand Daughter Francis COX should have my Cipress Chest and Lastly I constitute and appoint my Son Caleb MORSE my sole and whole executor of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and disanulling all other wills and testaments formerly made by me and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy two.
