Thomas Jasper

At an Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Session (torn) at the Courthouse for the County of Currituck aforesaid on the first Tuesday of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred sixty four
PRESENT HIS MAJESTY JUSTICES

The Last Will and Testaments of Thomas JASPER and Patience ETHERIDGE have been then and exhibited in open court proved in duie form and the executors (faded) named qualified were ordered to be recorded which they are accordinly and as followeth in these words That is to say ---- The Last Will and Testament of Thomas JASPER says thus viz.

In the name of God Amen I Thomas JASPER of the County of Currituck and province of North Carolina being of perfect memory thanks be to God for the same but very week state of health and knowing the uncertainty of this life doe therefore make this Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say principally I recommend my sole to God Almighty that gave it hoping to recive pardon for all my sins I have committed in this wicked world and my body to be buried in such Christian manner as my executors hereafter named shall think fitt and couvenant my worley good I give in this manner and form following------

Itam: I lend to my wife Darkis my estate that is dureing her weddowhood and at the day of her marey or death I give my ??? of the negro wench Judy to my Son Samuel to him and his airs----

Itam: I gave to my Son Samuel my plantation on Blunt Creek then my estate that I have lent to my wife to be equelly devided betwen Caleb WHITE and Lydia WHITE and Samuel JASPER at his marig_________

Lastly I nominate constitite and appoint my wife Darkis JASPER my hole and sole executer of this my Last Will and Testament to see the same done and performed in testamoney whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 29th day of September one thousand seven hundred and sixty three
