The Last Will and Testament of Thomas JARVIS JUNR. dec'd was Exhibited at Feb. Term 1836 and Proven by the oath of William SNOW and ordered Recorded.

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas JARVIS of the State of North Carolina Currituck County Powels Point being Sick in Boddy but of Sound and perfect mind and memory Blessed be God, do This Thirteenth day of January in the year of our Lord 1836 make and Publish This my Last will and Testiment in manner Following that is to say first of all I reckmend my Soul to God That gave it and my Boddy To be buried in a Christian manner at the descsion of my Executor and I lend and give my worldly property Which The Lord has ben pleased to bless me with in the following manner.

   Item I lend to my beloved wife Lidy JARVIS duren her life the part of my Land That The dwelling house and barn stand upon commencing at The cross fence at where Dempsey GREGORY lived thence strat across to Richard Jarvises line running Richard Jarvis line to the water to contain all the land that I own to the east of the cross fence.

   Item I give unto my wife Lidy JARVIS all the property that we heired from Abel JARVIS estate except what I Bought at his sale.

   I give unto my wife Lidy JARVIS one negro man by the name of Bill and one negro woman Ratchel unto her and her heirs for ever.

   Item I give unto my Two Daughters Harriet and Permelia JARVIS the land that I lend to my wife to be eaqully divided between them agreeable to quantity in quality unto them and their heirs for ever.

   Item I give unto Harriet and Premelia JARVIS Three negro children named as follows Hanner Spence and Mary to be divided when Harriet comes with age or marries to them and their heirs for ever.

   Item I give unto my daughter Sally the other part of this land whereon I now live that is not given away that is to say the west side of the cross fence to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my Daughter Sally JARVIS the following negros to wit namely negro woman Silvey and negro boy Smith to her and her heirs for ever.

   Item I give unto my daughter Susan JARVIS the land where William THOMIS now lives to contain One hundred and Twenty acres to her and her heirs for ever.

  Item I also give unto my daughter Susan JARVIS the following negroes to wit namely negro boy Joe and negro girl Marthy to her and her heirs for ever.

   Item after all my just debts are settled my will and desire is that all of my property that is not given away be sold a six months credit and eaqually divided amongst my wife and four children.

   Item I give my Wife Lydia JARVIS one years provition and I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend Daniel LINDSEY JR. my hole and Sole Executor to this my Last will and Testament in witness Where of I the said Thomas JARVIS to this my last will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written
