The Last Will and Testament of Edward T. JARVES deceased was exhibited in open court at May term 1845 and the execution of the same by the oath of Caleb T. CHAPLAIN Esqr. one of the subscribing evedences there to in due form and Patrick PARKER executor there in named quallifyed ordered recorded.

State of N. Carolina Currituck County.

   In the name of God Amen.  I Edward T. JARVES being of sound mind and memory but low in health and calling to mind that this body is mortal and must soon moulter with its mother dust under these considerations I therefore do make and constitute this my last will and Testament in the following manner.

   1st I give to my Brother Samuel JARVES two sheep his first choice.

  2nd I give to my Sisters Son William HARRIS my long gun.

   My will is that my executor sell all my property parshable or chattle property in doors and out on a credit of six months and likewise my will is that my executor lease or rent out my house and land to some one who shall live upon the land and improve the farm by clearing and taking in land and keeping up the ditches and fences and that they pay such a part of the corn raised annually for the rent and that my executor sell the same annually.  My will is that the proceeds of my chattle property and the rents of my land remain a joint stock until my oldest daughter comes to the age of twenty one years then to be equally divided betwen my three children Jane, Lovy and Ann I likewise give and bequeath my house and land whereon I now live to my three Daughters Jane, Lovy and Anne JARVES to be equally divided between them when Jane shall arive at twenty one years of age.  My desire is that Patrick PARKER take my two daughters Jane and Ann and that Patsey RUST take my daughter Lovy.  I likewise make and appoint my friend Patrick PARKER my executor to this my last will and Testament in witness whereof I here unto set my hand and seal this the 23 day of April 1845.
