Edwin Ives of Princess Anne Co., Va.
Nov. 4, 1890 - Feb. 23, 1892

I Edwin IVES of Princess Anne and State of Virginia I do make this my last will and testament following.  Item the first.  I loan to my wife Mary IVES the farm I now live on and all of my other lands.  Item the second.  I give to Hilary E. SIMMONS all of my land to him and his heirs forever.  Item the third.  I give to my to my wife Mary IVES all of my bonds, horses, mules, household furniture, corn, hogs and farming utensils and all the remainder of my estate forever.  I appoint my wife Mary IVES without security executrix of this my last will and testament.  As witness my hand and seal this 4th Nov. 1890.

Acknowledged by the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presents of us which we sign in the presents of the testator, and at his request.

Virginia -- At a County Court held for Princess Anne County on the 1st day of February 1892.
    The will of Edwin IVES was this day produced in Court and on the oath of Orion BAUM, James E. CARTWRIGHT, T.J. CARTWRIGHT and D.W. CRAFT the subscribing witnesses thereto who testified that the testator, in their presence and in the presence of each of them, all present together at the same time with the said testator, acknowledged the signature thereto as his signature and that the said will was his true last will and testament, and that they and each of them subscribed their names as witnesses to the said will in the presence of the said testator and in the presence of each other, and that the said testator was of sound and disposing mind.  It is ordered that the said will be admitted to probate as a will both of realty and personalty and that the same be recorded, and on the motion of Mary IVES the executrix therein named who made oath thereto and entered unto and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $20,000 without security the testator having requested that none be required and the Court deeming it unnecessary conditioned as the law directs the certificate is granted the said Mary IVES for obtaining a probate of said will in due form the said bond is ordered to be recorded

KELLAM, Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do certify that the above is a true copy of the will of Edwin IVES admitted to probate in the County Court of Princess Anne County on the 1st day of February 1892.  As witness my hand and seal of the said Court this 2nd day of February 1892.

    I, J.M. KEELING, Judge of the County Court for the County aforesaid, in the state of Virginia, do certify that A.E. KELLAM, whose name is signed to the above copy of the last will and testament of Edwin IVES was at that time Clerk of the County Court for the County of Princess Anne and the signature thereto is genuine.  Given under my hand as Judge of the County Court for the said County, this February 2, 1892.

    I, A.E. KELLAM, Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do certify that J.M. KEELING whose name is signed to the above certificate was at the time Judge of the County Court of Princess Anne County and I and the signature thereto is genuine.  Given under my hand and seal of said Court hereto attached, this February 2d 1892.

    A paper writing from the County Court of Princess Anne County and State of Virginia, purporting to be a copy of the last will and testament of Edwin IVES of the County and state last named, was filed for probate and registration in Currituck County, N.C. by Mess. STARKE & MARTIN, attorneys, and upon the annexed certificate of A.E. KELLAM, County Court Clerk and J.M. KEELING, County Court Judge of Princess Anne County, state of Virginia, attested by the said Clerk's official seal, the Court finds that said paper writing is a true copy of the original will of the said Edwin IVES, that the will was duly proved and probated in the said County of Princess Anne state of Virginia (a copy of its probate being thereto annexed); that said proof and probate was done in accordance with the laws of North Carolina.
    Therefore, it is adjudged that the said paper writing is a true attested copy of the will of the said Edwin IVES, deceased.  Let said paper writing, with the said probate and certificate thereto annexed together with this certificate be recorded in Book of Wills in the Clerk's office of Currituck County N.C. and filed.
