In the name of God, Amen. I Ephraim HEWIT of the County of Currituck and State of north Carolina, being very sick and weak of body, but perfect in mind and memory, thanks be to almighty God for it and calling unto mind the mortality of men and knowing it appointed unto all men once to die, I take this method of disposing of my worldy goods in manner and form as follows viz.

First. I give my soul to the Lord who give it and my body to be buried in a christian like manner at the discretion of my executors and my worldy goods in manner and form as follows.

Item. I leave my land to be sold, and all debts paid, that comes in against me in a due form and the balance to Hilry HEWIT.  I terminate, constitute and appoint Caleb CAPTS JUN., my whole and sole executor to this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have set my hand and caused my seal to be affixed this 19th day of May 1815.
