Currituck November Term 1801 No. 195

In the name of God Amen, I Nathan HALL of the State of North Carolina and County of Currituck, being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory, Thanks be to Almighty God for the same, and calling to mind uncertainty of this life, do make and ordain this instrument of writning my Last Will and Testament

First of all I recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it me and my body to be burried at the discretion of my executors and as for my worldly estate that it has been Gods will to bless me with I dispose of in manner following

First I desire all my just debts should be paid punctualy by my executors and as for the remainder of my estate I dispose of in manner following.

Item I give and bequeath to Frances WILLIAMS fifty silver dollars if she brings no accompt against my estate and if she does bring any accompts only twenty dollars to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give to my Son Jehu HALL all my estate that is not given away of every sort or kind whatsoever that is to say all my land on the main and all my land on the Banks and all my negroes and stock of all kinds and all my household furniture, whatsoever to him and his heirs for ever. and my will and desire is that if my Son Jehu HALL doth die before he comes to the age of twenty one years that my estate shall go and decend in the following manner.

First my will is that my Brother Spence HALL shall have all my lands, that I possess to him and his heirs forever. and my will is that William TATUM shall have one negro boy by the name of Isu.

Item my will is that my Cusin Nathan GREGORY two negro boys by the names of Joshua and Dick to him and his heirs forever, and my desire is that Elizabeth WALKER shall have ten pounds in money as support, just as my executor thins best and the rest of my estate that is not already given away I give and bequeath to my Brother Spence HALL that is to say, all my negroes, all my stock and household furniture of all kinds whatsoever and all my wearing apperell and every part and parcel to him and his heirs forever.

and I doth hereby nominate and appoint my Brother Spence HALL and my Son Jehu HALL my executors to this my Last Will and Testament and I do impower my executor Spence HALL to see any part of my estate at publick or private sale as he thinks proper. In witness to the above have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of March 1799
