In the name of God Amen, I Absolom GRIEVES of the County of Currituck being in proper seinces do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament and after my just debts is paid I dispose of my worldly estate in manner and form as follows to wit.

Impremis: My will is that my just debts be paid and the remainder of my property to be left as follows.

First I recommend my soul to God who gave it first to me and after that my body to be decently burried as it was once appointed for all mankind to die.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son Job one cow and calf

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son John one cow and calf

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Polley one feather bed

And the rest of my property that I besess(sic) boath in doors and out I lend unto my beloved Wife Altethea GRIEVES during her natural life and widdowhood to ?????? it to getting and raise my children on in the best manner she can and after death or marriage of my Wife Altethea GRIEVES my will is that what of my estate is then remaining may be equally divided between my three youngest children namely Absolom and Ann and Tolsane(?) to them and them forever.

And I do appoint my Wife Alley GRIEVES my whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this (note: no date written)
