     Currituck County

   I Mary W. GREGORY of the aforesaid State and County being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament.

   First: My real estate consisting of the farm on which I now reside conveyed to me by R.B.MUNDEN; the tract of woodland conveyed to me by Grant BAXTER; the tract of woodland conveyed to me by G.W. WILLIAMS, full description of each tract can be obtained at the Court House in the Register of Deeds Office, is to remain in possession of my beloved husband N.W. GREGORY during his natural life.

   Second: After the death of my Husband N.W. GREGORY I give and devise to my grandson Ambrose W. DOZIER to him and his heirs in fee simple forever, all the aforesaid tracts of land after he shall have paid to my daughter Josephine SAWYER three hundred dollars; my son I.L. GREGORY three hundred dollars; my daughter Mary E. DOZIER three hundred dollars, my son J.L. GREGORY three hundred dollars, which amounts the said Ambrose W. DOZIER shall pay within two years from the date that he shall have become possessed of said lands by this will.

   In witness whereof I the said Mary W. GREGORY do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 11th day of June 1912.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Mary E. GREGORY to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.

In Re Estate of Mary W. GREGORY}    Order for probate of Will
    A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Mary W. GREGORY dec’d is exhibited in open court for probate by Ambrose W. DOZIER the devisee therein named there being no executor named in said will and the due execution thereof by the said Mary W. GREGORY dec’d is duly proven by the oath and examination of G.W. WILLIAMS and C.B. MATHIAS, JR. subscribing witnesses thereto and it is further shown to the satisfaction of the court by said witnesses that the said Mary W. GREGORY was at the time of making said will of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a will and under no restraint to their knowledge information or belief; It is thereupon considered adjudged and decreed that said proof is sufficient and according to law and that said paper writing is and contains the last will and testament of Mary W. GREGORY dec’d and it is therefore ordered that said will be admitted to probate and recorded in the Book of Wills of Currituck County an as such filed as provided by law in the Office of the Superior Court of said County. Dated this the 13th day of December 1912.

In the matter of the Will of Mary W. GREGORY deceased}
   Ambrose W. DOZIER being duly sworn doth say: That Mary W. GREGORY, late of said County is dead having first made and published her last will and testament and that Ambrose W. DOZIER is the devisee named in the will.
   Further that the property of the said Mary W. GREGORY consisting of a farm and two woodland tracts of land devised in said will to said Ambrose W. DOZIER and also personal property consisting of horse, mule, cow, hogs, poultry, farming utensils, household & kitchen furniture, buggy money in band and money in J.L. GREGORY admr's. hands is worth about $600.00 being the personal property so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application and that Ambrose W. DOZIER, Snowden, NC is devisee named in said will, I.L. GREGORY, NC., J.L. GREGORY Snowden, NC Josephine SAWYER, Shawboro, NC, Mary E. DOZIER, Riddle NC, entitled to the personal property not under the will and entitled to money to be paid to them by said Ambrose W. DOZIER under said will $300.00 each.

[NOTE:]  Marriage records show that Noah Gregory married Mary Owens on Oct. 15, 1853.  Cemetery records show that N.W. Gregory was born June 10, 1833 & died July 21, 1912.  His wife, Mary W. Gregory died Dec. 8, 1912 at the age of 75.  Both are buried in Shawboro, NC in the Noah Gregory Cemetery as well as one of their sons, Isaac L. Gregory, and several of their grandchildren.  Noah & Mary Gregory [erroneously enumerated as "Greg"] are listed in the 1860 Moyock Dist.
