Picket Gilligan

     Currituck County    }    This April 18th day 1890
    I Picket GILLIGAN of the County and State aforesaid being of sound mind & memory but sick in body, make this my last will and testament, to wit:

I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Margaret GILLIGAN all my real estate during her natural life to wit: the house and lot of two acres that I now occupy and live on, but let it be expressly understood that my said wife, if she thinks proper can sell or dispose of said real estate and can spend the proceeds of said sale for her comfort and maintenance in her old age, but in case she does not sell & dispose of the same during her life then my will and desire is and I do hereby give the said real estate to Gideon SAWYER my wife's nephew - to him and his heirs forever.

I give and bequeath unto my said beloved wife all of my chattel estate of whatsoever kind to her forever.  I hereby appoint my beloved wife Margaret, executrix to this my will.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto signed and sealed this instrument as my last will, revoking all others.
