At an Inferior Court of Pleas and Quarter Session held at the Courthouse for the said County on the first Tuesday in October Anno Domini 1763.
PRESENT HIS MAJESTY JUSTICES

The Last Will and Testament of George GAMWELL having been then and there proved in due form and the executors there of qualified was ordered to be registered and is as follows accordingly to wit.

In the name of God Amen I George GAMWELL of the County of Currituck and provence of North Carolina being weak and low of body altho of sound and perfect memory knowing that it is appointed of Almighty God for all mankind once to die not doubting but trusting in the mercy of my dear redeemer Jesus Christ to give again and that after my dessolution of this my ???? as is most befitting ???? my temporall affair for the executors of my Dear and Loving Wife and children as much as may be and have there upon thought fitt to make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth.

Imprimis: First I give my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently burried after the proper ordering of my exe. without pomp or state and my soul I give and devote to Almighty God who gave it into whose I hereby recommend it thro the merrissy of my dear redeemer hopeing for his sake alone he will accept the same.

Imprimis: I give to my Son John all my wearing appearell that I now am possest of with one cow (called beauty) and her heifer after my decease and a gun and one shilling sterling.

Imprimis: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ketherine GAMWELL one heifer of a cow called gell (?) with her incrase.

Imprimis: I give and bequeath to my Son William GAMWELL one cow called pritty and a long gun and a new Bible.

Imprimis: I give and bequeath to my Son Solomon GAMWELL a brown heifer (called browne) with a chest lock and key.

Imprimis: I give to my love and loving wife Mary GAMWELL all the remainder of what I am now possest of making and constituting her my whole and sole exe. trx of this my Last Will and Testament to possess the same and to see all my just debts paid and after her decease all of what she shall leave of what I am now possess of shall be equally devided between my children--William, Solomon and Ketherine or the lawfull heirs of there body wherunto I have sett my hand and seal this seventh day of Nov. Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and sixty two 1762.
