Francis Gammidge
Oct. 19, 1719 - Jan. 6, 1735? (or 1738)

In the name of God, Amen.  I Francis GAMMIDGE of the Prect of Corituck in the Province of North Carolina Being in health of Body and of perfect mind and Remembrance Praised be God, But Calling to Mind the uncertainty and Instability of this transitory Life Do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament In Manner and form following: Viz

Imprimis - I Will and Bequeath My Soul to God who gave it me hoping through the mercy of Jesus Christ My Ever Blessed Redeemer to obtain the Pardon and forgiveness of all My sins and my Body to the Earth whence it was taken to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter nominated.

Item - I Give and Bequeath unto my Loving Cousin Humphrey VINCE all my Worldly Estate both Personal and Real Making him sole Executor of this My Last Will and Testament revoking and Disanulling all other Wills and Testaments By me formerly made Confirming this and none other but this to be my Last Will and Testament.  In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set My hand and fixt My seal this ninteenth day of October anno 1719.

    Isobell [the mark of] PRISCOD [I couldn't make out her mark but it looked like a "Q"]

   North Carolina }        At a Court begun & Held for the sd precinct at the Courthouse the 6th Jany 1735? [Jones has 1738]

    Present His Majesty's Justices

These may certifie that Andrew PEACOCK one of the Subscribing Evidences to the within Will who declared on the holy Evangelist that he was present & Saw Francis GAMMIDGE Sign Seal and declare the within to be and Contain his last Will and Testament and that he was then and that time of sound & disposing Memory, and that he saw at the same time Moses PRISCOT & Izabel PRISCOT the two other Subscribing Evidences Sign their names thereto then also appeared Humphrey VINCE Exter to the within will and took the Extors Oath in due form of Law.  Ordd that the Secry have Notice hereof that Letters Testry Issue thereon as the Law directs.
