This will made this 21 day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two, being sick of body but of sound disposing mind and memory having called to that it was appointed once for all men to die.

I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it and as touching my worldly goods my will and desire is for all my just debts to be paid.

Item I give and bequeath to my three Sons Caleb FORBES, Noey FORBES and William FORBES all my land to be equally divided between them and if either of them should die without lawful heir begotten of their body for the land to go to the surviving Brothers to them and their heirs forever.

Item I give to my beloved Wife Mary FORBES the plantation whereon I live during her widowhood and if my Wife should marry then to have only one third of the plantation, also I lend one negro woman called Percellar during her widowhood also I give as much of my farming tools as necessary for farming, also one mare called Nanee, also two feather beds, also one loom and harness also one cow and calf also one sow and pigs, and four other hogs, two ewes and one lamb, one woolen wheel, one linnen ditto., four stoot chairs, two flag bottoms, one pewter dish, one earthen dish, half dozen bowles, and saucers, one chest, one case of knives and forkes, half a dozen plates half a dozen spoones, one looking glass.

Item I give to my Daughter Lydia EVENS one negro boy called Sampson, one feather bed now in her possession, also one cow and calf, two sheep, half a dozen plates, one dish, half a case of knives and forkes, one chest, two chaires, one linnen wheel to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give to my Daughter Cortney FORBES, one feather bed and furniture, one chest, two ewes, one cow and calf, one linnen wheel, half a dozen plates, one dish, half a case of knives and forks, two chairs to her and her heirs forever.

Item I give to my Daughter Tammer FORBES one bed and furniture, one cow and calf, two ewes, one stone pott also ten dollars to her and her heirs forever.

I also give to my two daughters Cortney FORBES and Tammer FORBES the negro woman called Percillar and her increase to be equally divided between them if either of my two daughters Cortney FORBES, Tammer FORBES should die without lawful issue of their body then their part of negro wench and increase to go to the surviving Sister,

My will and desire is that all my property out doors and in doors thats not already given away be equally divided between all my children.

I also appoint Luke FORBES and Noey GREGORY my sole executors to this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 21st day of May 1802.
