The Last Will and testament of Enoch T FORBES
Deed Exhibited and Proved at Aug term 1823/5?

State of North Carolina Currituck County
In the name of God Amen I Enoch T FORBES of the county and State aforesaid being weak and loe in body But in sound sence and memory do this day make and ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and form as follows

First I recommend my soul to God that gave it Secondly my body to the decision of my Executor to be buryed in a christian like manner and touching such worldly Goods as it hath been pleased God to bless me with. I dispose of in manner and form as follows

Item first I desier that all my just debts to be paid

Item 2nd secondly I Lend to my Loveing wife Nancy FORBES after all my just debts is paid all of my personal estate now in my possession for the purpus of raiseing and schooling of my children upon duering of her life and widowhood with the privelege of seling such articles of property as she may think perishable and after her death or marriage an equal devision to take place of my personal Estate among all my children to viz John P FORBES, Polly FORBES, Sally FORBES, Samuel FORBES, Wilson T FORBES and it is my will and desier that at the marage of my son John P FORBES that at the descretion of my wife if ther is as much personal property so as to make my children Equal one bed and furniture one table and one chest also to my Daughter Polly FORBES one bed and furniture one cow and calf one table and one trunk to my Daughter Sally FORBES one Bed and furniture one cow and calf one table and one trunk to my Son Samuel T FORBES one bed and furniture one cow and calf one table and one trunk--To my Son Wilson T FORBES one cow and calf one bed furnatuer one table and chest----Also I gave and bequeath To my loving Son Samuel T FORBES the peace of land deeded to me from Adah MANN on the Northwest side of the plantation whereon I now live containing fifty acres to him and his heirs and asigns forever.

Item I gave and bequeath to loveing Son Wilson T FORBES the peace of Land deeded to me from Daniel BAUM and wife Polly BAUM on the South East side of the plantation whereon I now live containing fifty acres to him and his heirs and asigns Forever and I hereby ordain my loveing wife Nacy FORBES executor to this my last Will and testament in witness I the said Enoch T FORBES have hereunto stet my hand and seal to this my last Will and testament this seventh day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.
