In the name of God Amen. I William FEREBEE of the county of Norfolk and State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say.

GRANDY I give the entire annual proceeds of my farm and swamp lands lying in the county of Currituck and State of North Carolina, during his natural life. And if the said Thomas J. GRANDY marry and die, leaving a child or children, I give the said lands to such child or children forever. But if such child or children die without issue, then I give said lands to the children of my daughter Huldah and to the children of my son Edmond, dec., to be equally divided between them. Likewise I make constitute and appoint James McB. OLD to be my executor who shall rent out said lands on Jan 1st of each year, and at the expiration of every year, he shall give the proceeds to the said Thomas J. GRANDY as long as he lives a natural life. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the 7th day of September in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixty nine.
