In the name of God Amen. I Hezekiah FARROW SEN. of the State of North Carolina and County of Currituck, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, blessed be God for his mercy and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life, and that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make and ordain this instrument of writing to contain my Last Will and Testament, disannulling and revoking all other Wills heretofore by me made either words or in writing and this only to be taken as my Last Will and Testament that is to say.

First of all I recommend my soul to God, that gave it, and my body to be buried in a christian like manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter named, and as to what worldy estate it hath been pleas God to bless me with I devise and dispose of manner and form following.

Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Elizabeth FARROW one bed and furniture her choice, also my Son Thomas one bed and furniture, bought of Mr. ALLISON, next choice to Samuel Old Bay horse bridle and saddle, and my blaze face horse, the rest of my beds and furniture to be divided among my small children [inserted: "is to my wife"] also twelve ewe sheep, also one old pide cow, also all my goats, and also all my hogs except such as may be hereafter disposed of during her life for the support of the small children also I lend to my beloved Wife the use of my schooner boat and punt for the term of five years, then for her to be sold by my executors and one hundred dollars of the said money to be put to the use of schooling my six small children, the remainder of the money for to be divided amongst all children male and female equal alike to my young set I had by my last Wife. Also I give my beloved Wife one canoe called the old flat bottom canoe. I also give to my beloved Wife six stocks of bees, also two chests, one that's called hers and one that commonly stands up stairs, and one trunk called her own one large case of bottles, also Eropon(?) works and one large oval table, also half dozen chairs, three windsar chairs and three flag bottom during her life or widowhood, and no long and then to be equally divided amongst all my children. I also lend to my beloved Wife the use of my house and plantation bounded as follows, beginning at a large life oak against the old place runing east cours to the side line, then with that line till a west course will strike Edward FARROWs corner then up Edward FARROWs line so far as to include the old peach orchard then to the first station during her life or widowhood and no longer.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas FARROW and my Son Pelege Spencer FARROW one hundred acres of my land at Brockis (?) Point, joining John CLARK to be equally divided between them, Thomas to have his choice, to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel FARROW fifty seven and two thirds acres of land at the Piny Woods, which is held by two deeds, one from Betsey WILLIAMS and the other from James ONEEL to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Angelica BARNETT fifty acres of my land at the lower end of my land joining Solomon CREEDs land across from the sea side to the back line, being one half of my tract there, to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Daughter Mourning FARROW fifty acres of land joining Angelicas being the other half of the same tract, to be equally divided between them to her and her heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my Son Silais FARROW fifty acres of my land, joining Mournings on the east side across my land from the sea side to the back line, to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas FARROW fifty acres joining Silas on the east in the same manner to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel FARROW fifty acres of land joining Thomas on the east in the same manner to him and his heirs forever. I give to my Son Edward FARROW fifty acres of land joining Samuels on the east in the same manner to him and his heirs forever. I give to my Son Jacob FARROW eighty three acres of my land at the ponds being one third of a tract there, on the westward part joining PAINs to him and his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my Son Hezekiah D. FARROW eighty three acres and one third of my land joining Jacobs on the eastward side, to him and his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath to my Son Pelege S. FARROW eighty three and one third acres of land joining Hezekiahs on the eastward side to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my Son Loraneza Burris FARROW fifty acres of land that I bought of Clescey SCARBOROUGH at the high pine hills, to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my Son Hezekiah D. FARROW the house and plantation where I now live at the decase of his Mother to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my two Sons Edward and Jacob fifty acres of land apiece, the land left their Mother by her Fathers Will joining on the sedge(?) to be equally divided to them and their heirs forever. I give my two Sons Pelege S. and Loranza B. a small parcel of land joining John FARROW being one third of a tract of land my Father left his Widow beginning at the sea side line then runing the side of the old patch to the head, to be equally divided between them to them and their heirs forever. I also give to my Son Loranza B. that part of my land beginning at Edward FARROWs corner up at the old field then with his line across the sedg by the grave yard to the marsh so as to include the point of oaks and across the head of the sedge to the ridg to him and his heirs forever. I give to Daughter Angelico that part of my land inclosed in a line beginning at Loranzas corner runing across the creek with my Wife Elizabeths line to the back line and along the back line northward so far as to inclose the point of ridg on the east side of the creek and the point of the old house hill, and from thence round the woods to the beginning to her and her heirs forever. I give to my eight Sons viz. Silas, Thomas, Samuel, Edward, Jacob, Hezekiah D., Peledg S., and Loranz B. all that part of my land northward of Edward FARROWs and that devise to my daughter Angelica up as far as STOWs line to them and their heirs forever for a privilege. I also give my Son Thomas one black pied heifer to him and his heirs forever. NB. I give my Son Samuel one yearling with the end of his tail off, to him and his heirs forever. I give my Son Hezekiah D. one straight horned cow to him and his heirs forever. I give to my Son Edward one black pide unmarked cow to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my Son Jacob one pide cow in his Mothers mark to him and his heirs forever. I give to my beloved Wife Elizabeth one red cow for the support of the small children. I also give to my Daughter Angelica one horse yearling came of bay mare to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give one bay mare got by Joseph FARROWs stud to my Son Samuel to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Son Thomas two bay mares in his own brand to him and his heirs forever. NB. I give the remain of my horse flesh to be divided equally among my small children at the disccretion of my executors, that is to say Edward, Jacob, Hezekiah D., Pelege S., Mourning, Loranza B., to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Wife all my fencing during her widowhood and then to be divided among all my children male and female except the fencing around the house and that to stand what money that is coming for building the vessel, likewise what money will be coming for my sugar and molosses, coffee and iron and junk, those things when sold. NB. I give to my Son Silas thirty dollars to him and his heirs forever. Likewise I give to my Daughter Angelica thirty dollars to her and her heirs forever. I give to my Son Thomas thirty dollars to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my Son Samuel thirty dollars to him and his heirs forever. Likewise three canoes, one pilot boat and one little house at Kinnekeet, and sundry other perishable articles to be sold at publick auction, also I desire my yaul boat to be carried away and sold to the best advantage, likewise I give to my son SILAS one bee hive, Angelica one, Thomas two, and Samuel one, to them and their heirs forever. NB. I lend to beloved Wife Elizabeth all the rest of my property during her widowhood and no longer for the maintenance of my small children. I also constitute and appoint my friends Reuben BURRUS Edward FARROW and my Wife Elizabeth FARROW my whole and sole executors to this my Last Will and Testament as the law shall require as witness my hand and seal this 27th day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eleven.
