Hezekiah
Farrow, Sr.
Aug. 10, 1797 - June 25, 1798
Currituck Co. Will Book 2, pp. 128-129

In the name of God Amen, I Hezekiah FARROW, of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, being weak of body but of sound disposing mind and memory blesed be the Allmighty God for it, calling to mind the onone certainty of this life and it being ordained once for all people to die, I do make and ordain this instrument of writing to contain my Last Will and Testament disannuling and revoking all other wills and testaments before made by me either by word or writing and this only to be taken as my Last Will and Testament,

First, that is to say, I recommend my soul to Allmighty God that gave it and my body to be decently in a christain like manner burried in a polace where it shall please my executors hereafter named and as to what worldly estate it hath been please God to bestoe far above my desarts I give and dispose in manner and form as followeth------

First my will and desire is that all just debts and funeral charges should be paid in convenant time after my decease-----

My will and desire that my loving Wife Christiana should have one bed and furniture her choice of all I have I likewise I gave unto my loving Wife my riding horse by the name of Prince, saddle and bridle and one large chest and likewise one cow that is in my mark, I give also to my loving Wife eight ewe sheep to her and her heirs for ever.

Item I lend to my beloved Wife Christiana my house where I now live and twenty five and one third acres of land with all the improvements thereunto belonging during her widowhood and no longer and then I gave the aforesd land to my beloved Son Hezekiah with all the improvements to him and his heirs forever.

Item I gave unto my Son Joseph my desk.

Item I gave unto my two Sons Edward and Hezekiah my peteangar and canoe and punt.

Item I gave my Daughter Christiana all the creatures that is in her mark and brand.

Item I gave unto my Son Hezekiah all the creatures thats in his mark and brand,

Likewise I gave unto my Son Rubin one mare colt and the rest of the creatures that is in his mark.

Item I gave unto my Daughter Sally one mare by the name of Bonny and all the creatures in her mark.

Item I gave unto my Daughter Elisabeth one large oval table-------------

Item I gave unto my two Daughters Elizabeth and Christiana one hundred acres of land to be equally divided between them joining of Hezekiah FARROW JR. land Elizabeths on the north side where her house now stands and Christiana on the south side to them and their heirs and remainder of that tract to be equally divided between my three Sons Joseph, Edward, and Hezekiah to them and their heirs for ever.

Item I gave unto my son Rubin my plantation at Mount Pleasant with all its improvements to him and his heirs and the rents to support him untill he comes of age.

Item I gave unto my Daughter Sally two small tracks of land joining each other joning CREDELLs land on Heron Bay to her and her heirs for ever, The rest of sd land for her support.

Item I gave unto my four Sons Joseph, Edward, Hezekiah and Rubin one hundred acres of land on Mattamuskeet joining of Sallys being my late entry near Heron Bay to them and their heirs.

N3 I leave one bay horse by the name of Bell to be sold at oction to satisfy all lawfull charges----

N3 I lend to my beloved Wife Christiana all the rest of property during of her widowhood and no longer for the maintainance of my small children.

I also constitute and appoint my friend Hezekiah FARROW JUR. and my Wife Christiana my whole and sole executors to this my Last Will and Testament and the law shall require as witness my hand and seal this 10 day of August and in the year of our Lord 1797.
