State No Carolina I Henry EVANS of the County of Currituck & state aforesaid being in avery low state of health that thanks be to God for my being in a disposing mind & memory do call to mind it is once appointed for all men to die in the first place I recomend my soul to Almighty God that gave it me, & my body [to] be buried at the discretion of my executors, and after the recomendation of my so[ul] & body I dispose my worldly estate in the following manner & form and whereas to put an end to all former wills that have been heretofore made I make & declare th[is] to be my last Will and Testament this second day of Decr 1785

Item in the first place I give & bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Jane four pewter dishes, four plates, four masons, also all my pot ash my loom & harness & wooden ware & one featherbed & furniture one large p----(?) trunk & one chest & all my wheels & four chairs also I give my wife one riding mare, bridle, & saddle & two cows & calves to put the ----(?) lawfully begottes forever also I give my wife twelve barrels of corn & cornstalks of -----(?) now my desire & whole will is that if my wife Jane should die without lawfull heir begotton on her body that al[l] the estate that is above given to her should be equally divided between my brothers Joseph EVANS, Ezekel EVANS & my sister Jane PROCTOR & Easther OVERTON also the whole of my lands I leave to my wife during her natural life then I give my lands to my brother Ezekel EVENS for Henry EVANS to him & his heirs forever

Item    I give Joseph GAMEWELL five bands of corn & now I conclude with the rest of my estate as follows that is to say my will & desire is that my executors shall disuitionally divide the rest of the whole estate to and between my brothers Joseph EVANS, Ezekel EVANS & my sisters Jane PROCTOR & Easter OVERTON for them & their heirs forever and now I constitute and appoint my beloved friend Nathan HALL & William RUSSELL my whole & sole executors to this my last will and testament in which doe sign seal publish pronounce & declare the same to be my last will & testament signed sealed & declared in the presents of us
