The last will and testament of William ETHERIDGE Deceased was exhibited in open court at May Term 1847 and the execution of the same proved by the oath of James BELL and Fanny BELL subscribing witnesses thereto in due form of law ordered recorded.

In the name of God Amen. I William ETHERIDGE in the county of Norfolk in the state of Virginia being of sound and perfect mind and memory do this 18th day of February 1846 make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say

First I leave the use of all my land where I live to my wife Sally ETHERIDGE during her life and after my wifes death I give the said lands to my Nephew William ETHERIDGE to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my wife negro man Enoch and negro woman Courtney to her and her heirs forever. I also give to my wife all the household and kitchen furniture to her and her heirs forever. Also I give my wife my carriage and harness.

Second I give and bequeath to Margaret OLDS negro woman Chaney and her child Adeline to her and her heirs forever

Third I give to Ann DOZIER one negro girl Claricy to her and her heirs forever.

Fourth I give an bequeath to nephew William ETHERIDGE negroes one man James, and man Oeky, man Miller, boy John, woman Bridget, girl Lane to him and his heirs forever

Fifth I leave all the balance of my estate that is not given above after paying any debts out of it to be equally divided between my wife and my nephew William ETHERIDGE to them and their heirs, and I hereby make and ordain my nephew William ETHERIDGE executor of this my last will and testament. In witness where of I the said William ETHERIDGE have to this my last will and testament set my hand & seal the 18th February 1846.
