Currituck Co. Will Book 3, p. 195

In the name of God Amen, this the eighth of March one thousand Eight hundred twenty three, I Tarte ETHERIDGE of the state of North Carolina and County of Currituck do make this my Last Will and Testament. Firstly I give and bequeath to my Sister Sary GILBERTs airs twenty shillings lawful money of this State.

Secondly I give and bequeath to my Sister Anna CARTER after paying my debts and supporting my Mother ten acres of land beginning at the water on her line a half acre wide to the back of her line and then one and a half wide as much as will contain ten acres

Thirdly I give and bequeath to my Brother Adam ETHERIDGE forty acres of land and my house and twenty five acres of marsh after paying my debts and seporting my Mother her life time. Forthly I give to my Sister Polly GAYLARD fifteen acres of land beginning at Anna LAYEN line and running on the south east side to the back (above this is written the word “uncertain”) end of my land as much as will contain fifteen acres after paying my debts and seporting my Mother her lifetime.

Fifthly I give and bequeath to my Sister Morning BURGES deceasts airs twenty shillings lawful money of this State.

Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above mentioned furthermore I leave my Brother Adam ETHERIDGE my sole executor-I give my close to my Mother and all I have beside.
