Polly A. Etheridge
May 24, 1860 - Nov. 9, 1868

Know all men by these presents that I Polly A. ETHERIDGE of the State of North Carolina and County of Currituck, being by the grace of God of sound mind and understanding.  And for the good will I bear to my children do by these presents make this my last will and testament (revoking all former will or wills) Viz - After paying all my just debts and the expenses of the decent interment of my body, I give and bequeath to my son John Allen ETHERIDGE my house and lot and appurtenances thereunto belonging situated on the lower part of Roaniak Island.  I also give and bequeath to my daughter Aceneth ETHERIDGE a certain chest and contents.  As witness my hand and seal May 24, 1860 in the presence of

Offices of Probate Judge for the County aforesaid}

    Be it remember that on this the 9th day of Novr 1868 a paper writing purporting to be the last will & testament of Polly ETHERIDGE deceased is exhibited for probate before me, J.B. LEE Probate Judge for the county aforesaid, and the due execution thereof by the said Polly ETHERIDGE is proved by the oaths of Spencer HOOKER & Jos. G. DANIEL subscribing witnesses thereto.  It is therefore considered by the Court that the said paper writing and every part thereof is the last will & testament of Polly ETHERIDGE, the same is ordered recorded & filed
