In the name of God Amen, I John ETHERIDGE of Currituck County on Powels Point in the province of North Carolina being now sick but of sound memory blessed be God for it, calling to mind the uncertain of human afairs do make this my Last Will and Testament

First I comit my soul to God who gave it and my body to be disently privately buried, two hundred acres of land which I weant equally divided between my two Sons, my Son John ETHERIDGE and my Son Samuel ETHERIDGE.

Secondly I give and bequeath to my Son John ETHERIDGE and his heirs the plantation whereon I now live, laing on the point ???? and Albemail Sound. To my two Sons I bequeath all my land to be equally divided as above mentioned, to be for their own us and behoof likewise I also give and bequeath unto my two Sons all my cloths which is two shirts and two coats Jacks and briches, secodly I do give and bequeath and heaby give unto my Son Samuel ETHERIDGE my broad cloth suit of cloth.

I do bequeath and do give unto my Son John ETHERIDGE my other suit.

Thirdly I do bequeath and do give unto my three Daughters (illegible) of cattel to be equel devd between my three Daughers(sic) Esthr ETHERIDGE and Sarah ETHERIDGE and Mary ETHERIDGE for their own use and behoof. And all the rest of my estate I do hearby bequeeth and do give unto my Wife Ama ETHREDGE as long as she doth live. January the 28th day 1783.
