I, J.B. DAVIS, of the County and State aforesaid being of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following.

Item - After the payment of all of my just debts I give and bequeath unto my wife Lou DAVIS all of my chattle property.

Item - I loan to my wife Lou DAVIS during her natural life the piece of land I bought of W.R. DUDLEY.

Item - After the death of my wife Lou I give and bequeath the said piece of land bought of W.R. DUDLEY to my son William W. DAVIS, his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever.

Item - I nominate, constitute and appoint my wife Lou DAVIS Executrix to this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Oct. 16, 1893.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the testator to be his last will and testament and at his request and in our presence and in the presence of each other we attach our names as witnesses thereto.

PROBATE OF WILL WITH EXAMINATION OF WITNESSES

    Currituck County         }   
    A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of J.B. DAVIS, deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, by Lou DAVIS the executrix named therein, and the due execution thereof was proved by the oath of G.W. WILLIAMS, one of the subscribing witnesses.  This July 7, 1899.

APPLICATION FOR LETTERS TESTAMENTARY

Lou DAVIS being duly sworn states that J.B. DAVIS is dead and that the property of the deceased estate consists of hogs, cattle, horse, farming utensils and household and kitchen furniture and real estate  and is worth about $150.00 and that Lou DAVIS and William W. DAVIS are the parties entitled to said property.  This July 7, 1899.
