In the name of God Amen, I Josiah DAVES being weak in body but of sound memory Thanks be unto God for it, and leave my worly goods as foleth-----

Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved Son Cornelius DAVES the land and plantation whereon I now live to him and his heirs forever----

Item: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elisabeth DAVES one negro garl called Fran(worn) to her and her heirs forever, will reserve the use of the afsd. negro to my Wife during her widowhood and no longer, then my will and desire is that all the remainder of my estate be equly divided betwen my Wife Euphan DAVES, and my two children after my just debts is paid,

I do hearby appoint my Wife Euphan DAVIS and Max. BOWREN exote. to this my Last Will and I do hearby pronounce this to be my Last Will and Testament given under my hand and seal this 22 day of Febr. 1788.
