Currituck Co. Will Book 2, pp. 11-12

In the name of God Amen, I John CAVE of Currituck County State of North Carolina being of a sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God, do this 24th day of November in the year of our Lord 1792 make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say, first I commend my soul to God, and my body to the earth to be buried in a christian like manner in confidence of a swif and certain resurrection through the attoneing blood of a dear redeemer and my goods that kind heavens hath blessed me with I give in manner and form following

Imprimise I give unto my Son Cornelious CAVE one large iron pott to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Grand Daughter Dyke BUNNEL the present Wife of Edward BUNNEL all my sheep, one chest one large pott, one pair fire tongs to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Grand Son Jonathan HALL one feather bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever.

Item: Provided John CHURCH continues obliging and kind, hands me assistance such as I may need, now in the rapid decline of life, in consideration for his trouble, care and tenderness I give the said John CHURCH one feather bed and furniture, one large pot, one cow, one horse called Smith, best bridle and saddle to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I loan to my Wife Elisabeth CAVES all the remainder of my estate, be the within doors, and without during life, and after her decease to be equally divided between my Son Cornelious CAVE and Dyke BUNIEL my Grand Daughter to them and their heirs forever.

I hereby make and ordain my beloved Wife Elisabeth CAVE and my worthy friend Edwd BUNIEL executors to this my Last Will and Testament, set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
