Cordelia Boswood
April 26,1897 - April 22, 1904

I Cordelia BOSWOOD of Coinjock of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, a spinster, make this my will and testament.

I give, devise and bequeath to my son Grandy BOSWOOD all of my real estate consisting of the tract of land on which I live, bounded by Coinjock Bay, the John DUKE tract, the Benjamin TAYLOR tract, the lands of J.W. BRUMSEY and others situate in Coinjock County and State aforesaid and estimated to contain about one hundred acres to him and his heirs forever in fee simple.

I also give and bequeath to my said son Grandy BOSWOOD all of my personal estate that I may have at my death - money, notes, accounts, stock of all kinds, poultry, house hold and kitchen furniture, provisions, farming implements - to him absolutely forever.

My will and desire is that my said son Grandy BOSWOOD shall be my sole heir and legatee of my estate, both real and personal and I hereby give and bequeath to him all species of property that I may be seized of at my death that may not be named in the above items.

And lastly, I do hereby appoint my said son Grandy BOSWOOD, my lawful executor, to execute this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof to this my last will and testament, I have set my hand and seal this the 26th day of April 1897.

PROBATE OF WILL

Currituck County}    In Re Estate of Cordelia BOSWOOD, deceased
    A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Cordelia BOSWOOD, dec'd., is exhibited before me for probate by Grandy BOSWOOD, executor therein named and the due execution thereof by the said Cordelia BOSWOOD, dec'd. is duly proven by the oath and examination of C. BARCO, H.B. ANSELL and E.E. PIGOTT, subscribing witnesses thereto: and it is further shown to the satisfaction of the Court by said witnesses that the said Cordelia BOSWOOD was at the time of making said will, was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will and under no restraint to their knowledge, information or belief.
    It is thereupon considered, adjudged and decreed, that said proof is sufficient and according to law and that said paper writing is and contains the last will and testament of Cordelia BOSWOOD, dec'd.  And it is ordered that said will be admitted to probate and recorded in the Book of Wills of Currituck County as such filed as provided by law in the office of Clerk of Superior Court of said County.
    It is further ordered that said Grandy BOSWOOD be allowed to qualify as executor as provided by law.  Dated this 22nd day of April 1904.

APPLICATION FOR LETTERS TESTAMENTARY

State of North Carolina}    Before E.W. ANSELL, Clerk Superior Court
    Currituck County     }    In the Matter of the last will of Cordelia BOSWOOD dec'd.
    Grandy BOSWOOD being sworn, doth say: That Cordelia BOSWOOD, late of said county, is dead, having first made and published her last will and testament; and that Grandy BOSWOOD is the executor named therein.
    Further, that the property of the said Cordelia BOSWOOD consisting of real estate and personal property is worth about $2000.00 and that Grandy BOSWOOD of Barco, N.C. is the party entitled under said will to the said property.

EXECUTOR'S OATH

 State of North Carolina}
    Currituck County      }
    I, Grandy BOSWOOD, do solemnly swear that I believe this paper writing to be and contain the last will and testament of Cordelia BOSWOOD, deceased; and that I will well and truly execute the same by first paying his debts and then his legacies, so far as the said estate shall extend, or the law will charge me, and all other duties pertaining to the office of Executor I will discharge according to law, to the best of my skill and ability.  So help me God.
