In the name of God Amen, I Joseph BAXTER SEN., of the County of Currituck being in a low state of health but of sound mind calling to mind the mortality of man that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner following...

Item. I give unto my Son Isaac BAXTER the one half of a negro man Jubiter and the other half of said negro man Jubiter I give to my two Grand Sons William and Thomas BAXTER the Sons of Thomas BAXTER, deceased to be appraised or sold and divided as my Son ISAAC may think right to them and their heirs.

Item. I give unto my Daughter Sarah BAXTER one negro boy named Ned on her paying over to her Sister Mary BAXTER fifty dollars also I give to my Daughter Sarah one feather bed and furniture one bureau, one linnen wheel one young cow or heifer to her and her heirs.

Item. I give to my Daughter Mary BAXTER one negro boy named Smith and fifty dollars Sally is to pay as the difference between the negroes. Also I give to my Daughter Mary one feather bed and furniture one bureau one linnen wheel one young cow or heifer to her and her heirs.

Item. I lend unto my Daughter Nancy BELL during her natural life one negro woman named Milley and at the death of my Daughter Nancy BELL I give the aforesad negro woman Milley and her increase from this time to be equally divided between all the children of my Daughter Nancy and Joshua W. BAXTER equally to them and their heirs.

Item. I give to my Son Joseph BAXTER the land and plantation whereon I now live to a branch at the upper end of the plantation the line to run a straight line from Andrew DUKE's line with the branch to WALKERs line also one feather bed and furniture to him and his heirs.

Item. I give to my Son Joshua BAXTER the remainder of my land to the south east of the aforsaid branch and line to him and his heirs.

Item. I lend to my Wife Mary BAXTER one negro girl named Pheebe during her natural life then the said negro girl Pheebe and her increase I give to my Son Joseph BAXTER to him and his heirs.

Item. All the remainder of my estate within doors and without I leave to my beloved Wife Mary BAXTER during her live and at her death to be equally divided amongst all my children to them and their heirs to be sold for a division.

Lastly I nominate and appoint my Sons Isaac BAXTER and Joshua BAXTER my executors to this my Last Will and Testament disannulling all other will or wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th day of November 1821.
