The last will and testament of Sally Baums, dec'd., was exhibited at February Term 1837 and proven by the oath of William J. Chaplain and ordered recorded.

In the name of god amen.  I, Sally Baum, of the state and county aforesaid, being in a low state of health but of a sound, disposing mind and memory, thanks be to god for the same, but knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, do make and ordain and confirm this to be my last will and testament as follows--

Item: I give and bequeath unto my three sons, Norris Baum, Samuel Baum and Edward Baum, one negro girl by the name of Peg and in case either of them should die before they come to age or have a lawful child of their body, then and in that case, it is my will those that survive shall have the said legacy.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my three sons, Norris Baum, Samuel Baum and Edward Baum, fifty acres of land lying and situated on Bodies Island, to them and their heirs for ever.  And in case either of them should die before they come to age or have a lawful child of their body, then and in that case, it is my will that those that survive shall have the said legacy.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Barbary one bead and furniture.  The names will be found on the bed stids.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Norris Baum one bed and furniture.  His name will be found on the stid.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Baum one bed and furniture.  His name will be found on the stid.

Item:  I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Baum one bed and furniture.  His name will be found on the stid.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my son John Baum five dollars, to him and his heirs for ever.

Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Penelope five dollars, to her and her heirs for ever.

Item:  I give and bequeath unto my daughter Polly five dollars, to her and her heirs for ever.

Item: It is my will and desire that my negroes Jack and Ruth shall be hired out and the hire of said negroes to be equally divided between my four children, Barbary Jarvis, Norris Baum, Samuel Baum and Edward Baum.

Item: I want all the rest of my property indoors and outdoors to be sold to the best advantage and equally divided between my four children as to say--Barbra, Norris Baum, Samuel Baum and Edward Baum, to them and their heirs for ever.  Lastly I nominate and appoint my friend Joshua Harrison my whole and sole executor to this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal November 24th 1836.
