(At a Superior Court of Pleas & Quarter Session held at the Court House in Currituck on the first Tuesday in June Anno Domini 1770 Present His Majestys Justices--

The last Will & Testament of Adam BAUM of Currituck County Planter deceased was then and there in open Court exhibited, duly proved and Peter Baum one of the Executors for the said Will qualified the Will was ordered to be registered & upon it as follows accordingly in hoc verba.).

In the name of God Amen, I Adam BAUM in the County of Currituck in low condition but in perfect sense and memory and calling to [?] of my body that it is appointed for all men once to die I do therefore make my last Will and Testament. I give my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian manner at the Decration [sic] of my Executors and my Soul until God that made it to relieve the same at the general Rexation [sic] by the power of God, and for my worldly goods wherewith it has pleased God to help me in this life, I give and bequeath in the manner following.

I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Frances BAUM my black mare, the best bed and furniture and boat, betwix her and my son Peter as they live together & after they part one to the other, then I give and bequeath unto my son Peter BAUM my horse and three guns, one bed and Furniture, one Sward. Then I give and bequeath Daughter Bridget BAUM my bay Mare, one bed and Furniture and the first Mare Colt unto Peter: as for the rest of my Estate I desire my Wife, Son and Daughter as long as they live together to have equal Benefit of it and after they rnarry or separate to have the said Estate equally devided amongst my wife Frances, my son Peter and Daughter Bridget BAUM and I also desire to appoint my wife Frances BAUM and my Son Peter BAUM Executors of my last Will and Testament, In Witness hereof I set my hand & Seal this the 26th day of December Anno Domini 1769.
