In the name of God Amen. I Robert BASNETT of Cape Hatteras Banks in County of Currituck, Pilot being in perfect health of body and perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men and to die doe(sic) make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executor nothing doubting, but the general resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

First I give to my Wife Elizabeth BASNETT fifty acres of land whereon I now live with the houses and improvements, household goods, debts, moveables during her widowhood or life then after her death, the houses and land with two beds and furniture I give to my Daughter Ferebee BASNNITTS also I give to my Son Willoughby BASNETT fifty acres of land joining Christopher FARROW line running from the sound to the sea also I give to my Son Archibald BASNETT fifty acres of land joining Elizah BASNETTs running from the sound to the sea likewise I give to my Daughter Elizabeth BASNETT fifty acres of land whereon she now lives lying between Christopher MIDGETT and Major WHIDBEEs likewise I give to my Daughter Sarah BASNETT fifty acres of land whereon she now lives, joining Archibald BASNETT on the sea likewise I give to my Daughter Amey BASNETT fifty acres of land joining my Daughter Elizabeth BASNETTs on the sea and all the remainder part of my land and moveables at my Wifes death I give to all my Sons and Daughters to be equally divided amongst them all. Likewise I constitute make and ordain Elizabeth BASNETT my Wife and Willoughby BASNETT my Son executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoake and disannul all and every other former testaments wills, legacies bequeathes and executors by me in any before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred.
