In the name of God Amen, I Joseph BALLANCE of the County of Currituck and State of North Carolina, calling to mind it is ordained once for all people to die, do make and ordain this instrument of writing to contain my Last Will and Testament,

First, that is to say, I recommend my soul to Almighty God, that gave it and my body to be burried in a place where it should please my executors hereafter named and to what estate it hath been pleased God to bestow me I give and dispose in manner and form following.

Also my will and desire is that all my estate after my death should be sold and the money to be put into schooling my three children equally.

I also appoint Gideon MARCHANT to be my whole and sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament as witness my hand and seal this 4th day of July 1801
