In the name of God Amen, I James ALLEN, of the State of North Carolina and County of Currituck, being now in perfect mind and memory, do this ninth day of March in the year of our Lord 1798 make and establish this to be my Last Will and Testament begining as followeth and first I resign my soul in the hand of God that gave it and my body in the hands of my executor in hopes to be birried in a christian like manner and then I give to my Cozzen Rachel FERRELL one heiffer cald Cherry and I and I gave to my Cozzen Thomas CORLES one heiffer cald Pidy and I give to my Cozzen John CORLES one heiffer cald Browney and I give to my Cozen Sopheir CORLES one heiffer caul Damesil and I give to my cozzen Leady CORLES one heiffer cald red bird and I give to my dear little friend Lydia CAPS one heiffer cald Goodluck and all the rest of my estate real and personal I give and bequeath to my dear and well beloved Wife Mary to her and her disposal for ever.

And I appoint my trusty friend Thomas GARRETT and my Wife Mary my executors to this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said James ALLEN have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of March one thousand and seven hundred and ninety eight
