| Elizabeth "Bettie" Partridge was born in Kitty Hawk, Currituck Co., NC in February 1870 to Jesse Partridge and Letitia (Sibbern) Baum. She died in 1943. Elizabeth married William Thomas Tillett in Nags Head on May 22, 1890 and to them were born 6 children: Mary Holland Tillett (1894-1992) who married John Seldon Midgett (shown in above photograph); Belle V. Tillett (1896-1947) who married John William Midgett; Zorada Mae Tillett (1901-1973) who married William Lyle Dough and Samuel Clifford Basnight, Sr.; Viola Estelle Tillett (1903-1979) who married Marshall Fields Tillett, Sr.; Jesse James Tillett (1904-1962) who married Margaret Agnes Hayes and Mary Maiczechowski; and Ernest Leroy Tillett (1906-1990) who married Eva May Mason. | Jesse James Tillett was born in Nags Head on March 26, 1904 and died in Central Islip, Nassau Co., New York on Jan. 16, 1962. He was first married to Margaret Agnes Hayes who was born in New York City, NY on Dec. 24, 1903. She died in St. Petersburg, Fl. on Jan. 21, 1957. James & Margaret were married in Riverhead, NY on Apr. 18, 1925. Jesse moved to NY around 1926 and later married Mary Maiczechowski. |
