This is a picture of Mary Virginia (Saunders) Burton Parker [left] and Alethia Saunders, daughters of Jesse Saunders and Frances "Fanny" Owens.  They were known as Mama Parker and Aunt Letha to family members.  The time period for this picture maybe the late 1930's.

According to her death certificate [see it here], Mary Virginia Saunders was born June 3, 1856 and died May 25, 1945. She was first married to Dempsy Burton before the 1880 census and then married Appolas Parker on July 11, 1894.  At list of her children's births were found in the Nathaniel & Fanny Hampton Bible.

Alethia was born c. 1860.  It is not known when she died.  It is thought that Letha lived in Virginia We do not know Letha's married name.  If anyone can add information please drop me a line.
