Dempsey B. Perry & Belinda (Tillett) Perry

Dempsey Perry, son of Thomas Perry and Esther Tillett, was born in Kitty Hawk on Mar. 18. 1842 and died Apr. 11, 1924.  He married Belinda Tillett around 1866.  Belinda was born in Kitty Hawk to Samuel Avery Tillett, Sr. and Sarah Mariah Beacham on Nov. 20, 1844 and died May 13, 1923.  This union produced 10 children.

1. Henry H. Perry (1867-1944) - never married
2. Benjamin Franklin Perry, Sr. 1869-1944) - married Martha Winifred Harris
3. William Thomas Perry (1871-1946) - married Eliza Cathline Twiford
4. Samuel Avery Perry (1873-1956) - married Levetta Haywood Rogers
5. Annie Eliza "Doll" Perry (1874-1965) - married Decatur Beacham, Jr.
6. Shepperd Perry (1876-1889)
7. Emma M. Perry (1879-1935) - married Jackson Sanderlin Twiford, Sr.
8. Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Perry (1881-1972) - married Banister Jarvis Hines
9. Zenith Fearing Perry (1883-1972) - married Beulah St. Clair Hurdle
10. Buena Weston Perry (1887-1929) - never married

Dempsey served as a Private during the Civil War in Company L & B of N.C. Troops.  His occupation at that time was listed as "sailor" but he later became a merchant in Kitty Hawk.  He and Belinda are both buried in the Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk.
