Currituck Co., N.C. Houses

Levin Whitehurst Home

Located on Knotts Island.  Present owner, Clarence Fentress.  He says the date "1845" was on a brick in the chimney.  He has removed the original hand-carved mantle and some of the original "Bible and Cross" doors and has placed them in his new home which is a short distance away.

This photo and information are from the project "Old Homes in Currituck County to 1860" originally compiled June 1960 by Alma O.
