William Cartwright Cox & Elizabeth Staples Cox

William Cartwright Cox, the second son of Thomas Cox and Nancy Bell
married Elizabeth "Betsy" Staples of Camden County, North Carolina,
December 25th 1836.  According to a note written in 1915 in the family
bible Betsy Staples was 13 at the time of her marriage. A description of the Coxes written by Alice Carpenter Willett, a grandchild by their daughter Elizabeth, stated "they were a striking couple.  He was tall with sandy hair and steel blue eyes; she was petite with black hair and eyes."
