17 Oct 1921 - Application for Letters of Administration.  S.R. DAIL, being sworn, states that Edith DAIL died without leaving a will and that the value of her estate is about $44.65; that M.L. DALE, age 22, and C.L. DALE, age 17, are entitled as heirs thereof.  [Administrator's oath follows].  /s/ S.R. DAIL

NOTE:  Currituck marriages show that Steven Dail, son of William & Nancy P. Dail, was married to Edith Owens, daughter of Perkins & Virginia Owens, on Oct. 12, 1898.  The 1910 Poplar Branch Twp. of Currituck Co. shows Stephen E. Dale, age 40 and married 12 yrs., Edith E., wife age 31 with 2 children/2 living, Martin L., son age 10, and Clarence L., son age 5.   The 1920 census [same township] shows Stephen R. Dale, age 50, Edith, wife age 39, and Clarence L., son age 15.
